Start Ride A Pet by learning one short egg route: find an egg, return to the hatch area, hatch it and inspect the new pet. The official game description centers on collecting faster pets and using mutations. Your first goal is a repeatable loop, not the most distant rare egg.

1. Get your bearings

Identify your hatch area, the nearby paths and a landmark you can spot on the way back. Read the controls shown by the game for your device. This guide does not assume that keyboard, mobile and console prompts are identical.

2. Scout before you collect

Ride a short route without carrying an egg. Practice turning and clearing a ledge if the path requires one. If a route is confusing on the outward journey, it is unlikely to get easier under a countdown.

3. Pick an egg you can bring back

Read the egg name and the pickup prompt. Choose a nearby return you understand. After pickup, follow the live timer instead of assuming that every egg or every game version uses the same duration.

4. Return and hatch

Go back to the hatch area using the route you rehearsed. Follow the game’s hatch interaction and let the result appear. Avoid changing your route to chase a second unplanned objective while carrying the first egg.

5. Inspect the pet before replacing yours

Compare the new pet’s displayed speed, jump and any relevant earnings with your current pet. Check whether a progression objective requires a pet you already own. Use the pet catalogue as reference context, while treating your current in-game card as the authority for your current build.

6. Expand one region at a time

Once your first loop is reliable, explore the Giant Tree or waterfall region. Practice the return, then try collecting there. The location guide covers reported tree, cave, mountain and desert areas without promising live spawns.

Mistakes that slow down early progress

Chasing rarity before learning the route. A rare egg that you cannot return successfully does not improve your next run. Practice first.

Reading index rarity as hatch probability. The two are not interchangeable. Only an explicitly shown egg pool supports a probability for that offer.

Comparing base speed with a modified card. Mutations and progression can change what you see. Compare values under similar conditions.

Selling before checking the next objective. Community progression reports mention a Fox requirement; always check your current requirements before removing a useful pet.
